SCDA Youth

Youth Ministry at Santa Clara de Asis is designed for Middle School and High School youth in order to facilitate encounters with Christ, how to  embrace the life of the Church, and responding to their vocational call. We want every teen to know that they belong and are welcome here! 


This year we are excited to introduce THE TEN on Sundays from 10:00 - 12:30. All youth programs will be primarily meeting during this time. THE TEN kick-offs on October 1st.

Middle School Youth Ministry

  • 6th - 8th grade youth will have opportunities to gather during THE TEN Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. These events will include mass, snacks, formation, connect groups,  games, and community. 

  • We will also have other events throughout the year from service projects, overnight retreats, youth ministry rallies, and fun social events. 

  • Upcoming Dates:

    • Knotts Berry Farm Trip

    • Middle School Weekend Retreat - March 1st-3rd

High School Youth Ministry

  • 9th-12th grade youth will have opportunities to gather on Sundays during THE TEN from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. These events will include mass, snacks, formation, connect groups,  games, and community. 

  • We will also have other events throughout the year from service projects, overnight retreats, youth ministry rallies, and fun social events. 

  • Upcoming Dates:

    • I AM Eucharistic Congress - October 20th 

    • LA Youth Day - February 15th

    • High School Youth Ministry Retreat - March 1st-3rd


Confirmation Preparation 

  • Confirmation completes the Sacraments of Initiation that was begun in baptism. This two year formation is open for any 9th-11th grade teen who wishes to receive this sacrament. 

  • This year, teens will be meeting during the THE TEN on Sunday morning between 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. We will also be encouraging the entire family to join this journey by attending THE TEN. 

  • Formation will also include opportunities of service, small groups, and retreats.

  • Upcoming Dates

    • Year 2 Confirmation Retreat - November 10th-12th

    • **Year 1 teens will be asked to join the Youth Ministry Retreat on March 1st-3rd** 


Leadership 

  • We are looking for adults and confirmed teens to help guide and lead our Youth Ministry. Our team is composed of individuals who are passionate about their faith and eager to share the gospel with the young Church. 

  • We need adult leaders who are interested in accompanying young people in their faith journey. This will range from welcoming teens at the door to facilitating small group discussion. 

  • We need confirmed Youth who are interested in helping with small groups during Sunday Connect groups, help leading retreats, and being an example of what it means to be a disciples of Christ. We are also looking for teens who want to help with the Middle School Ministry.
